Nearly Four out of Five Gazan Women Victims of Violence

 

Of course, they have it better than women in Afghanistan, where nine out of ten women are victims of domestic abuse. The vast majority of women in Gaza face violence of varying types, a new survey has found. The study, by the Gaza-based Palestinian Women's Information and Media Center, found that violence against women in Gaza has increased since Hamas took over the Gaza Strip in the June 2007 coup and Israel subsequently imposed restrictions on the coastal enclave. The study found that 77.1% of Gazan women have experienced violence of various sorts, with almost half experiencing violence of more than one type. A quarter of the women said they do not feel safe in their own homes because of violence and more than a third said they were unable to fight back as they had more urgent priorities to deal with. 67% of the women surveyed said they had encountered verbal violence, 71% mental violence, 52% physical violence and more than 14% sexual violence. . . . Palestinian women's rights activists have told The Media Line that domestic violence is not tackled adequately by the Palestinian police, who often turn a blind eye to such complaints. There are few shelters for battered women in the Palestinian territories. Hamouda said laws to combat violence against women were lax and contributed to a culture of impunity for perpetrators, especially in relation to honor killings. Honor killings are cases in which women accused of bringing dishonor to the family are killed by relatives. Killings often involve women suspected of fraternizing with men who are not their husbands or relatives. "The authorities do punish them, but they have a weak law," Hamouda said. "When it comes to so-called honor crimes, the articles of the criminal laws still mete out mitigated sentences to the perpetrators. The organization is trying to increase awareness of violence against women and make it a higher priority for rights organization, civil society organizations and factions." Christian Girl Kidnapped by Muslims in Iraq

 

Mosul (AsiaNews) - A Christian girl was kidnapped by an Islamic group while at university. The girl, Sarah Edmond Youhanna, attended the first year of the faculty of education at the University of Mosul. The kidnapping occurred on 28 December. The kidnappers had telephoned the family of the girl and said they were members of an Islamic group. The police have opened an investigation and arrested some students. The event has spread an atmosphere of panic among the many Christian girls who attend the university. In the past, Islamist groups have attacked Christian college girls, throwing acid on them because they were wearing makeup or not wearing the veil. Over the past two months in Mosul four churches and a convent of Dominican nuns have been targeted in attacks; several Christian and Muslim homes have been destroyed. Five Christians have been murdered, others are victims of kidnappings. According to the Christian authorities such attacks are targeted and are part of a project of "ethnic cleansing" against the Christian community throughout Iraq. Source.

I just don't get these guys. They're willing to stand on corners and condemn the beliefs of their fellow Muslims, and they openly proclaim that Muslims are supposed to terrorize the enemies of Islam. But they are absolutely terrified of engaging in public debate and showing people that Muhammad was a true prophet. It's easy to shout your views; it's something else entirely to defend them in a reasonable manner. You can write your views in magic marker on a piece of poster board ("Revolution Sharpie"?), but that does nothing to show that your views are correct. I suppose that the most interesting thing about this video is that it shows how successful America is. Let's face it, in practically any Muslim country, this interaction would have ended in bloodshed. Here in America, however, we manage to keep a strained peace between groups that would otherwise annihilate each other. PART ONE PART TWO

German Muslim Gets Life in Prison for the Honor Killing of His Daughter

Kleve, Germany - A German court imprisoned a Kurdish man, 50, for life on Tuesday for ordering the "honour killing" of his own daughter after being told she had lost her virginity. A son and an Azeri friend lured the 20-year-old woman, Gulsum, to a lonely country road near the Dutch border, throttled her with a rope and clubbed her to death, inflicting horrific injuries to her face. Following Muslim Rape of Pakistani Christian Toddler, Family Finally Given Asylum in Canada

Of course, this won't bother the Muslims who read about this. (Well, it might bother them enough to voice disapproval in the comments section, but it certainly won't bother them enough to actually do something about the little girls being raped in Muslim countries.) Indeed, the Muslims here will be more angry that I have posted the facts than they are about their fellow Muslims raping little girls in order to force conversions to Islam. A seven-year-old Pakistani girl and her family have been given asylum in Canada after reports the child was raped and left to die when her Christian father refused to convert to Islam. The identities of Baby Neeha and her family are being protected by immigration officials, said human rights lawyer Chantal Desloges and One Free World International, a church that was instrumental in getting the family here. The family arrived in Canada on Dec. 12 after a three-year battle by organizers to spirit them out of danger in Pakistan. They are living in the Mississauga area and will be visited next month by Immigration Minister Jason Kenney, who was so touched by the family's plight that he doled out a ministerial permit, of which he has only issued two. Church founder Rev. Majed El Shafie said the family of seven have been hiding from extremists in Pakistan for about three years. Baby Neeha, at the age of 2 1/2, was raped by the son of her father's employer and left to die by the roadside, he said. No one was arrested for the crime. The Myth of the Anti-Muslim Backlash (vs. Actual Facts)

Whenever Muslim terrorists kill a bunch of Westerners, their fellow Muslims immediately start complaining about an impending backlash against Muslims. This is largely due to the way many Muslims think. When someone does something that offends a Muslim (e.g. drawing a cartoon of Muhammad), there's an immediate backlash against non-Muslims, often involving a worldwide killing spree. Thus, Muslims assume that other people think like literalist Muslims do, and that since many Muslims kill at random when offended, so will the rest of the world. Fortunately, the anti-Muslim backlashes rarely occur. Indeed, Muslims struggled to come up with instances of anti-Muslim hate crimes after the Fort Hood Massacre, and the best example they found was a Muslim woman who had her scarf tugged in a grocery store. This is startling evidence of Western tolerance. But the statistics are even more staggering. According to an FBI study on hate crimes, it's actually much safer to be a Muslim in America than a Jew in America: There were 1,606 hate crime offenses motivated by religious bias in 2008. A breakdown of these offenses shows: 65.7 percent were anti-Jewish. 13.2 percent were anti-other religion. 7.7 percent were anti-Islamic. 4.7 percent were anti-Catholic. 4.2 percent were anti-multiple religions, group. 3.7 percent were anti-Protestant. 0.9 percent were anti-Atheism/Agnosticism/etc. Yet, while the majority of religiously-motivated hate crimes are directed at Jews, we hear relatively little complaining from Jews. Muslims, on the other hand, proclaim their mythical mistreatment from the rooftops, in an effort to keep the peace until the next terrorist attack. Note: The population of Jews and Muslims in America is roughly comparable. According to CAIR, in 2001 there were 6-7 million Muslims in the US, and according to Jewish American Yearbook, in 2006 there were 6.4 million Jews in the US.

December Shocker: Art Therapy Fails to Reform Muslim Terrorists!

 

"Free the Gitmo prisoners! They're innocent!" That's what people were chanting not too long ago. So the U.S. started releasing inmates left and right. Lo and behold, they've been popping up ever since in terrorist attacks. So what was the government's brilliant plan to rehabilitate these violent Muslims? You guessed it. Art therapy. No, I'm not joking. Two of the four leaders allegedly behind the al Qaeda plot to blow up a Northwest Airlines passenger jet over Detroit were released by the U.S. from the Guantanamo prison in November, 2007, according to American officials and Department of Defense documents. Al Qaeda claimed responsibility for the Northwest bombing in a Monday statement that vowed more attacks on Americans. American officials agreed to send the two terrorists from Guantanamo to Saudi Arabia where they entered into an "art therapy rehabilitation program" and were set free, according to U.S. and Saudi officials.
